Delete Your Coffee Scouters Account

You can permanently delete your Coffee Scouters account and all associated data at any time. Choose one of the methods below based on your preference.

⚠️ Warning: Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. All your data will be permanently removed from our servers.

Option 1: Delete in the App (Recommended)

This is the fastest and easiest method.

Open the Coffee Scouters app on your device
Navigate to Settings (bottom navigation bar)
Scroll down to the Account section
Find the Danger Zone area at the bottom
Tap "Delete Account"
Read the confirmation message carefully
Tap "Delete" to confirm

Your account will be deleted immediately.

Option 2: Email Request (Alternative)

If you cannot access the app or prefer to request deletion via email, contact us at:

support@coffeescouters.com

Please include the following information:

Subject line: "Account Deletion Request"
Your registered email address (the one you used to sign up)
Your username (if you remember it)
Optional: Brief reason for deletion (helps us improve)

What happens next:

You'll receive an automated acknowledgment email immediately
We'll verify your identity and process your request
Your account will be deleted within 48 hours
You'll receive a confirmation email once deletion is complete

What Gets Deleted

When you delete your account, we permanently remove:

Personal Information: Name, email address, profile photo
User-Generated Content: All your reviews, ratings, and uploaded photos
Saved Data: Favorite coffee shops, check-in history
Subscription Information: Payment history and subscription status
Account Settings: All preferences and customizations
Activity Data: App usage patterns and interaction history

Data Retention After Deletion

Once your account is deleted, all your data is immediately removed from our active systems. However, for disaster recovery and security purposes, some data may remain in our encrypted backups for up to 30 days before being permanently purged.

After this 30-day period, your data will be completely and permanently deleted with no possibility of recovery.

Before You Delete

Consider these alternatives if you're not sure about permanent deletion:

Change Privacy Settings: Adjust who can see your profile and reviews
Cancel Subscription: You can cancel your premium subscription while keeping your account
Take a Break: Simply stop using the app without deleting - your account will remain intact

Canceling Your Subscription

Important: Deleting your account does NOT automatically cancel your subscription. If you have an active premium subscription through Google Play, you must cancel it separately to avoid future charges.

To cancel your subscription:

Open the Google Play Store app
Tap your profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions
Find Coffee Scouters
Tap Cancel subscription
